Komodo Rolling Out 12 Blockchain Protocols Via Next AtomicDEX Update

By Natalie Wu | January 13, 2022

Komodo – a multichain architecture network – reportedly disclosed details regarding the roll-out of 12 protocols on its non-custodial multi-coin software wallet and atomic swap-powered AtomicDEX.

Specifically, the 12 new blockchain protocols reportedly include Avalanche, Polygon, Harmony, Fantom, smartBCH, Ethereum Classic, Moonriver, KuCoin Community Chain, Huobi ECO Chain, Ubiq, Arbitrum, and Optimism, with the last two to be exclusively wallets.

Following the release of the update, users will reportedly have the power to conduct swapping between Avalanche tokens to Polygon, Ethereum to Binance Smart Chain (BSC), etc., and vice versa.

Multi-chain – bearing differences from the cross-chain feature – reportedly offer users the ability to tap into their crypto in the absence of wrapped or proxy tokens, providing potential enhanced security outcomes.

“Adding these protocols like Polygon and Avalanche adds a whole new level of accessibility for users to make quicker and smoother cross-chain and cross-protocol transactions while still keeping custody of their keys.” Kadan Stadelmann, chief technology officer of Komodo, further remarked regarding the situation.

Per Komodo, in 2021, AtomicDEX reportedly completed the BSC integration and completed the first-of-its-kind native cross-chain swap from BSC to a non-BEP-20 (BSC) blockchain.

As a non-custodial wallet, users will reportedly be equipped with the freedom to hold funds or withdraw to an external wallet at their own time.

AtomicDEX reportedly offers its services free-of-charge for market makers and 0.13% on the overall value of the transaction for market takers.
